Management team

The Aztalan Group consultancy has been in existence since October 2002. It is is currently the oldest operating Engineering firm in North America specializing in developing Liquid Crystal technology for advanced and demanding applications. It has successfully assisted in developing hundreds of products utilizing LC based technologies in more diverse market segments than any other company in the world.

With over 75 years of combined experience, its principles have successfully launched hundreds of products incorporating state of the art Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), Light Emitting Diode (LED) and Photo-Voltaic (PV) Solar Cell Technology.

Drew C Fair—Founder / Owner

Drew's background includes over 25 years of experience in Research and Development, Product Development, and Advanced Manufacturing in the Aerospace, Medical and Industrial markets. His specific areas of expertise are in Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and Light Emitting Diode (LED) technologies. Most recently he managed New Product Development efforts for advanced LED aircraft lighting equipment for VIP and VVIP aircraft at B/E Aerospace. Prior to that he managed the New Product Development efforts for LCD based Flight Critical Displays and Instruments for Avionic Applications at Astronautics Corporation of America. His key interests are in LCD based Avionics electronics and sub-assemblies, product development in the Avionics, Medical and Telecommunications market segments. Photometric testing and characterization, and overall Program Management. Drew has a Bachelors in Physics from University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth, and a Masters in Liquid Crystal Physics from Kent State University.

Greg Heine— Board member Quality Systems

Greg’s background includes 25 years of experience creating manufacturing systems for flat panel displays, electronic instrument clusters and semiconductors lasers. His key strengths are in electronic material selection and qualification, new product launches and Reliability/Quality systems. Greg has extensive experience in problem solving and failure analysis, FMEAs, HALT, HASS, PPAP, TMIL-STD and Telcordia testing, and ISO 9001. Greg was responsible for testing and analysis for the first LED backlight display based electronics for out of doors use in the Industrial market. Greg has two degrees from Michigan Community College, Flint, Michigan.

Lindsay Steele — Technologist LED Lighting

Dr. Steeles academic background is in experimental Condensed Physics, with an emphasis on electronics instrumentation. He has held various positions with regards to developing LED signage and lighting technologies for commercial and industrial applications. He has also held positions managing Engineering teams in the manufacturing of advanced products utilizing these technologies. Dr. Steele holds a PHD in high Energy Physics from Kent State University and is a graduate of the University of the West of Scotland.

Scott Fair: - Consultant: Solar Energy Systems

Scotts background is in digital electronics design and has a long career managing programs developing computer controlled OEM equipment on both coasts. He currently is involved in the design and installation of off-grid Photo-Voltaic P-V Projects. Scott holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and served as navigational officer abord the U.S.S Edson (DD-946) before its decommissioning in 1988.
